Some people dream of success. We make it happen.
Norwela Council

Welcome to Norwela Council - Boy Scouts of America.

Since 1923, Norwela Council, has helped the Boys and Girls of Northwest Louisiana to develop character, leadership, and positive values for the benefit of the youth, families, and communities that we serve including the parishes of Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, and Webster.

Advancement & Awards

Boy Scouting provides a series of surmountable obstacles and steps in overcoming them through the advancement method.

The Boy Scout plans his advancement and progresses at his own pace as he meets each challenge. The Boy Scout is rewarded for each achievement, which helps him gain self-confidence. The steps in the advancement system help a Boy Scout grow in self-reliance and in the ability to help others.

Merit Badge Strategies

You can learn about sports, crafts, science, trades, business, and future careers as you earn merit badges.

There are more than 130 merit badges. Any Boy Scout may earn a merit badge at any time. You don't need to have had rank advancement to be eligible.

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For over a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
